Cashback is as pre-employability programme for young people aged 15.5 who may be disengaged from mainstream education. We aim to provide an opportunity to continue learning which is focused on vocational activity alongside personal development sessions.
In Edinburgh, we offer a 6 week group work programme where young people are introduced to a variety of sectors. In Edinburgh, our 5 week programme is focused on an introduction to the construction industry. This learning is underpinned by the achievement of an SQA Qualification – Wellbeing Award – SCQF 3 and/or Core Skills – SCQF 3. Outcomes from the project are focused on increased engagement in learning, confidence, motivation and self-awareness.
We aim to better prepare young people for future learning, jobs and training opportunities. Upon completion of group work, young people will be offered one to one support with additional advice, guidance and encouragement to identify opportunities to progress to a positive destination.
