Parental Employability Support

The Parental Employability Support Fund (PESF) provides an opportunity for East Renfrewshire Council to work along with Third Sector colleagues to introduce a more flexible and user-based model of delivery that supports parents in local communities to progress through all stages of the Strategic Skills Pipeline into work and addresses in work poverty.  The Parental Employability Support Fund aims to support parents who are employed and unemployed with all aspects of employability and also provide financial support, enabling parents to upskill or re-enter the work place without the financial worry. The support is person-centred help for parents to address their barriers to work, which might include a lack of skills or work experience, health support, money advice, or motivational support. The Parental Employability Support Fund in East Renfrewshire can help build capacity of current support and measures in place to address child poverty and further develop what works well.

The Parental Employability Support Fund can support:

• Lone parents
• Families with 3 or more children
• Families with a disability
• Ethnic minority families
• Parents under 25 years.
• Families with a child under 1
• Families at risk of poverty.
