Enable Works serves people who are facing barriers to employment to obtain and sustain high quality and rewarding careers. We provide a variety of work programmes, training, and resources to help jobseekers with learning disabilities. We also help employers looking to benefit from hiring a more diverse workforce.

I am currently delivering a First Steps programme on behalf of Enable Works beginning for clients based in North Ayrshire. This programme will involve groupwork, with a focus on digital skills and money management in a working capacity.

Clients should meet the following criteria for this course:

  • Aged between 16-24
  • Have a disability or long-term health condition (inclusive of mental health)
  • Resides in North Ayrshire
  • Right to work in the UK

Our “First Steps” programme is a stage 1 service aimed at those who have a disability or long-term health condition, are furthest removed from the labour market and have experienced difficulty engaging with mainstream provision. Our service will prepare, motivate, and inspire clients to have the confidence and motivation to engage in other mainstream employability services, training, or education within the strategic skills pipeline. The service for clients will be based on individual needs, delivering highly quality, specialist barrier removal support to help towards achieving their long-term employment goals.

Here's something you should know

Info Box

Employability programmes work a little differently from other courses, especially when it comes to eligibility. For example, someone from Glasgow wouldn't be eligible for a programme taking place in North Ayrshire, and vice versa. Check the Postcode Eligibility tab in the Things to Know section to make sure this programme is open to you.
