Barnardo’s Fit For Work is a programme funded by CashBack For Communities and is aimed for young people aged 15-24 who are:
Living in areas of deprivation
Unemployed, not in education or training
At risk of being involved in antisocial behaviour, offending/re-offending
Fit for Work supports young people to take their first steps towards employability. It is a very flexible programme that aims to support young people to work in a group, develop their skills and gain better routines. These sessions are delivered from our premises twice per week for 2 hour sessions. We are also offering 1:1 support prior to starting on Fit for Work to encourage engagement and provide additional support where required. Young people may also be entitled to £20 per week if they participate in the course.
The 8 week interactive employability programme will consist of:
Budgeting skills
Health and Wellbeing activities such as Foot Golf, Health Walks, Transition Extreme etc.
