Levels of numeracy is poor for a high proportion of residents in Clackmannanshire as with most other areas of the UK.  This is causing barriers and problems for many in their day to day lives and progression to employment and better employment.

Multiply is a new programme, funded by the UK’s Shared Prosperity Fund which seeks to boost people’s ability to use maths in their everyday life, work or go on to open doors to further learning and development.

The programme is for over 19s, and will be delivered throughout Clacks from 1st Jan 23 to 30 March 2025.  There will be a huge range of supports, some workshops, some courses and lots of one to one tutoring.  The overall programme will include specific support for:

  • those who are taking their first steps into numeracy
  • parents who wish to learn with their children and improve their overall skills
  • those requiring numeracy to access a certain job or career
  • to be able to use numbers to better manage your money
  • those with experience of the criminal justice system
  • those who are leaving or just leaving care
  • new intensive and flexible courses at level 5 maths (Nat 5)

Multiply will be delivered in community venues throughout Clacks

Info Box

Employability programmes work a little differently from other courses, especially when it comes to eligibility. For example, someone from Glasgow wouldn't be eligible for a programme taking place in North Ayrshire, and vice versa. Check the Postcode Eligibility tab in the Things to Know section to make sure this programme is open to you.
