This course is for learners who may not have any formal qualifications and have the determination to succeed. It is aimed at those aged between 16-24.
This course aims to develop essential skills, motivation and self confidence. It gives a valuable grounding of college life, develop interests in a range of issues and those who aim to take an active role in society.
Themes include: World of Work, Our Environment, Health & Wellbeing, Working with Others, Basic IT and Communication Skills, Life Skills, Creative Project, Building a Portfolio etc.
Practical elements will take place both in college and at external venues and will have a direct link to the college curriculum areas.
This is a short full-time course (3 days per week) for 18 weeks. It is available in August on our Ayr, Kilmarnock, Kilwinning and Cumnock (Yipworld) campuses. It is available in January on the Kilwinning and Kilmarnock campuses. College funding is available for this course and will be assessed on an individual basis.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will have the opportunity to progress to another HIVE/college course/training providers or employment/volunteering opporunities.
