Students on this course will normally have progressed from PEZ (Personla Empowerment Zone), however, there is scope for students to come straight in at this level.
It aims to develop essentioal skills, motivation and self-confidence in an innovative way.
This course involves looking at the skills required for the workplace. Different areas of employment are considered and students are given an overview of tese areas. This course supports research into jobs that are linked to several locatins and are relevant to labour market opportunites such as schools, hospitals, nurseries, gyms, hotels, care homes etc.
These areas are: Health, Social Care and Early Years, Sports and Social Science; Hair, Beauty, Make-up Artistry and Complemetary Therapies; Art, Fashio, Music and Sound Production, Media, Photography and Performance Arts; Hospitality and Tourism; Business and Computing; STEM- Construction, Technology, Trades, Motor Vehichle and Horticulture; STEM – Engineering and Science; Digital Skills.
This programme is a short full-time course (3 days a week) for 18 weeks.
Funding is available for this course and will be assessed on an individual basis.
On successful completion of this course, you may have options of progression to another HIVE/College course/training provider or empolyment/volunteering opportunities.
