Intergenerational Befriending is a service set up to reduce social isolation and loneliness in the elderly community.
Young volunteers who are keen to take part in befriending are chosen from local schools and our Volunteer Co-Ordinator will support them to carry out their volunteering locally.
Our Volunteer Co-Ordinator will support young people to gain nationally recognised certificates through Saltire Awards where applicable. The Saltire Awards are the Scottish Government’s way of celebrating, recognising and rewarding the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland.
Each volunteering journey is different and VAA will work with individuals to create an opportunity that suits their needs.
