Benefits of the platform
Being part of our centralised referral service provides an efficient way of helping training providers to:
- connect with prospective participants
- advertise their programmes
- receive and manage applications and referrals
- manage interactions with prospective participants, schools and referral agencies
- plan and manage their programme numbers
- ensure that their referral/application processes are fair and transparent
Criteria to joining STN
Accessing the Skills Training Network platform is open to any training provider who can demonstrate that:
- you deliver quality assured employability and vocational training programmes, with a UK source of validation or accreditation
- you are in a sub-contractual relationship where your courses are being delivered on behalf of national or local government
- you satisfy the Employability Service Standards. An Employability Service Standards Self-Evaluation form must be completed and returned to us before you register on the site.
Your obligations
To take full advantage of the benefits of working with us, there’s the expectation Skills Training Network providers will:
- cooperate with us in all matters relating to the services, and participate, wherever possible, in meetings of members and partners
- keep all key contact details up-to-date
- make sure course and provider data is complete, accurate, and up-to-date
Frequently asked questions
The Skills Training Network is, “the UCAS of employability and vocational training courses”. A one-stop shop for exploring and applying to courses that will build your skills, grow your confidence, and support you to find work.
As a course provider, you can create your own “store front” where you can list your courses and make it easy for people to apply.
Users of the site can Apply or Make a Referral to your programmes.
Applications, referrals and general enquiries will arrive in your email inbox as a standard written email. You’ll have a direct line of communication with customers and referral agencies. No correspondence occurs through any direct message system on our site. All communications are handled by you and the customer or referrer.
What makes the Skills Training Network unique is that it empowers course providers to manage their own course details to ensure that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
To change or update course details, just go the My Programmes section of your account menu. Find the course you want to update then click Edit. This will direct you to the course details where you can easily make changes. Once you’ve made the necessary changes, click Save.
It’s important that you keep all course information up-to-date regularly.
