Helm is an established provider in the Dundee area and has worked with young people for 25 years. Currently Helm offers Employability Fund stage 2 and 3 supporting young people (aged 16-24) with the next steps into the world of work that are right for them as individuals. Helm also works with 15-16 year olds who find it difficult to engage in mainstream education.
Helm is full of supportive staff with years of experience who excel in helping young people to develop their confidence, uncover their passions and strengths. Helm also provides lots of hands on opportunities, a young person can get real-life experience and qualifications in Helm’s commercial garage, beauty salon, professional level kitchen, practical unit, gym or allotment.
When a young person is ready Helm will support them into a work experience placement where they can put their skills to the test, learn on the job and discover if this is the type of industry they want to work in.
At every stage Helm staff are there to support each young person in the way that best suits their needs and help them to get a job, an apprenticeship, a place at college or whatever suits their skills, needs and ambitions.
