Security Guards are in high demand! We work with employers across Glasgow who are ready to take on staff. This employment package has been designed to provide all the essentials needed to start your career.

The right people

We are looking for people who are aged 18 years and over, who do not have any criminal convictions.

To work in security you will apply for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence. To achieve this you must have the relevant valid ID (Check ID requirements) and be able to pass a criminal background check.

We will provide support to apply and cover the costs to receive your licence, which is sometimes referred to as an SIA badge. Please be aware that the processing of the licence and criminal record check will be carried out by the SIA issuing authority.

If you do not have a valid First Aid certificate (required), we have prepared a free one day course to help you achieve this in advance of the security training. which will take place on Saturday 4th April, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

5 steps to a job

1. Take part in 5 days of security training, delivered in a Glasgow city centre location.
2. Gain your Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence (we help you to apply and pay for this)
3. Take part in an interview for a Security Guard job (we help you to prepare for this)
4. Start a 6 week paid work placement in security, currently paid at Glasgow Living Wage of £9.78 per hour, location to be agreed.
5. If the placement is a success, start your new permanent job
