A week long on site course introducing the basic skills of stone carving, green woodwork and heritage construction skills. Accommodation available locally.
During your week with Building Futures Galloway you will spend one on one time with our expert tutors learning the arts of green woodwork, stone carving and integrate into our friendly team gaining experience of working with a heritage construction company. We have a number of projects locally where you can hone your skills alongside the team. Tasks range from the stabilisation of derelict heritage buildings using heritage methods of construction such as preparing and using lime mortar to making bespoke, green and sustainable furniture.
Our team is drawn from all walks of life and will gladly help you settle in. They bring a wide variety of different skills and specialities and all have experience of tutoring. If you are looking for a varied week where you will take home a variety of newly learned niche skills this programme is the one for you!
